Evidence-based recommendations on collagen paste for closing an anal fistula in adults. This involves using the paste to fill the fistula to seal it. The aim is to encourage healing.

 There is currently no CE-marked device for this procedure. A non CE-marked device can only be used in the context of clinical trials, with MHRA and research ethical approval. See MHRA advice on off-label use of a medical device.
