Evidence-based recommendations on new generation cardiac CT scanners (Aquilion ONE, Brilliance iCT, Discovery CT750 HD and Somatom Definition Flash) for cardiac imaging in people with suspected or known coronary artery disease in whom imaging is difficult with earlier generation CT scanners.

In July 2017, we updated this guidance following changes to the NICE guideline on recent-onset chest pain of suspected cardiac origin: assessment and diagnosis.

Is this guidance up to date?

We reviewed the evidence in January 2015 and found nothing new that affects the recommendations in this guidance. Some of the CT scanners that were reviewed have been updated since the guidance was published and we have summarised the main changes. The guidance applies to these product versions.
